Faden Quartz

Faden Quartz forms within a crevice that forms between two pre-existing rock layers. Initially, this small deposit is a vein filled with crystals that bond the metamorphic rocks together. As time passes, the two rocks will gradually move apart, allowing the Quartz to continue its crystallization process. This gradual stretching of the Quartz crystals creates a unique "string" appearance, visible in premium-quality pieces. A secondary layer of Quartz then forms on top of this initial "string" and matures into beautiful crystals.
